The Purvanchal Expressway was also planned during this time, which was later inaugurated in 2021, linking Lucknow city with Ghazipur. In 2021, Lucknow city saw the inauguration of the Purvanchal Expressway by the Prime Minister of India, which enhanced the connectivity of eastern Uttar Pradesh with Lucknow city.
