Two step verification is an extra layer of security that protects our account from being hacked almost on all social media we get the option of two step verification which we can implement on our account very easily.
Normally anyone can log in to any of your accounts, just they should have the username and password of your account, even if you have kept your password very strong but maybe you will become a victim of hacking in the future.
Or if any of your relatives, friends know your password and username, they can log in to your account very easily, however, you can change the password of your Instagram account at any time.
But just changing the password of your Instagram account is not a permanent solution to avoid the techniques like hacking but for this, you should enable two step verification in your Instagram account so that no one can hack your Instagram account.
enable two step verification in Instagram account
Even if they have your Instagram username and password because two step verification is a process that after enabling it when you or someone else try to login to your Instagram account, after the correct password and username you will have to enter a code.
That code will be sent on your mobile number by Instagram and no one will be able to login to your Instagram account without that code even if someone has the username and password of your Instagram account.
No matter it’s you or someone else, without that code you will not be able to login into your Instagram account, and a new code will be sent to your mobile number for each new login.
So let’s know to enable two step verification in the Instagram account, but before that, I want to point out that you can’t enable two step verification in your Instagram account through your Instagram app.
Yes, Instagram does not give us too much control over the mobile app you need to use the Instagram web to enable two step verification in the Instagram account. As we told you earlier, the Instagram account cannot be deleted from the mobile app.
And I will suggest that if you use other social media like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google, etc. enable two step verification in your accounts so that you never have to face any kind of hacking.
As you have already told you that you cannot enable two step verification through your Instagram mobile app, so if you are a desktop user, you will definitely use a web browser, but even if you are a mobile user, you also have to use the browser.
All android phones already have Chrome installed so I’ll suggest you use chrome, if you want, you can use firefox, Microsoft edge, etc.

So let’s first know

Enter your mobile number with country code and click on Next, it is not necessary to enter the same mobile number which is linked in your Instagram account rather you can use any mobile number on which you want to get Instagram two factor authenticator code.
And if there is no mobile number linked to your Instagram account, if you want you can add your mobile number to your Instagram account, how to add the mobile number to the Instagram account.
Instagram will send a code to your mobile number and click on “Done” by entering the code. You’ll see some backup codes copy them somewhere or take a screenshot, as you wish, just keep backup codes safe.
Two step verification has been enabled in your Instagram account and now if you will try to login to your Instagram account, you’ll also need to enter a code after entering the username and password that you’ll find on the mobile number you’ve entered.
But if it ever happens that you don’t have login in your Instagram account and you want to login but you don’t have the mobile number you entered for two step verification, at that time you can use the backup code.
And Instagram has already generated 5 backup codes for you, which we asked you to note. Although if you always have your mobile number, you will not need the backup code, still note the backup code somewhere so that you can use it in case of any login issue.
So you have enabled two step verification in your Instagram account using the mobile number and we apologize because we had told you about the authenticator app as well but we tried to implement it now, we found out that option is no longer available.
